VOLUNTEERS WANTED

The RTM is seeking more volunteers to support all of the museum's activities at the various sites.   Volunteering for the NSWRTM at Thirlmere Rail Heritage Centre, at Sydney Office, in mainline operations or Valley Heights Locomotive Depot Heritage Museum is a very enjoyable and fulfilling experience.  The roles in which individuals (or groups with a mutual interest) can be involved are very wide and varied.

The NSWRTM relies heavily on volunteers to staff the museums, maintain the grounds, exhibits and rail corridor, restore items for both static display and operational use, operate trains and generally manage and administer the many functions of the NSWRTM.

Opportunities are available to participate in interesting volunteer work to support our rail heritage through the NSWRTM.  Work is available on weekdays or weekends, or both.

We have established a register of skills, expertise, qualifications and interests of members who already have volunteered or wish to volunteer their time for the NSWRTM, so that the resources we have available in our members can be fully utilised.

Obviously we would like to "put round pegs in round holes" and give people the kinds of jobs they are interested in and are (or would be) good at. Please download the Volunteers Application form [PDF 128Kb] and return it to the Museum office. You will find volunteering a rewarding experience.
